UNO Attack Card Game

UNO Attack is a variation of the classic UNO that comes with a mechanical card launcher that holds the cards and shots them randomly when the player presses the button. The gameplay is very challenging/exciting due to random cards released by card launcher. To play the game, players match the cards with the top car on the discard pile and try to be the first one to discard all their cards. The round ends when anyone players plays all his cards or discard all his cards first and the player with the lowest points at the end of the entire game is the winner.

UNO Attack Rules and Cards

UNO Attack is a version of the classic UNO Card Game that introduces a special card launcher that shoots cards randomly when players hit the red button on the launcher. UNO Attack includes 112 cards, manual instructions and a mechanical card launcher. It was released in 1998 when Jeffrey Breslow was overseeing the production. To play it each player presses the button on the launcher, the launchers shoot cards and the player takes the cards and then they match them with the top card in the discard pile. The first player who will discard all his cards in each round wins and when the game reaches 500 points the person with the lowest points wins.

The UNO Attack game comes with 112 cards in four colors (red, blue, green, and yellow) divided into Number Cards (1 to 9 numbers on them), Action Cards and Special Cards. The Action Cards includes skip cards (8), reverse cards (8), hit 2 cards (8), and the special card includes discard all cards (4), Trade Hands cards (4), Wild Cards (4), Wild All-Hit Cards (2), and Wild Hit-Fire Cards (2) and in some games for extra rules there are Wild Customizable/Blank Cards (4) also included.

UNO Attack Rules

To play UNO Attack, you match cards by either the color, symbol, or action of each card in your hand with the top card on the drawn pile. Players compete against each other to be the first to discard all their cards and empty their hands to win the game. The first person to empty their hands first wins the round, and the person with the lowest points when the game reaches 500 points wins.

UNO Attack Cards Meaning

The game includes 112 cards in four colors, such as blue, green, red, and yellow. Each card color set includes number cards, special action cards, and wild cards. The number cards are from 1 to 9 in all four colors, action cards include Hit 2, Reverse, Skip, Discard All, and Trade Hands, and Wild cards include wild draw 2, draw 4, and wild blank. The game also features two special action cards: Wild All-Hit cards and Wild Hit-Fire cards.

Yellow cards are also, like the other number cards, the Yellow cards are used to match the color or number of the card on the discard pile. If a player cannot make a match, they must press the button on the Card Launcher.

Number Cards

The number cards contain 0 to 9 numbers on them and can be played by matching either the number or color of the card.

The Reverse card reverses the direction of the game from clockwise to counter-clockwise, and vice versa. If this card is turned up at the beginning of the game, the dealer plays first, and play then goes to the right instead of left.

Reverse Card

The reverse card changes the gameplay and reverses its direction, and the play then goes to the right instead of the left. 

When a Skip card is played, the next player in turn will skip their turn and pass to the next person on the left. If any player turns up a skip card at the start of the game, the first player loses their turn.

This skip card lets the next person to skip his turn and pass the play to the next person to them and the play continues as normal.

The Wild card in UNO Attack allows the player to choose any color they are interested in when playing. The wild cards can be played on any card, and the person playing the card selects his favorite color to continue playing.

When the player plays discard all card, the player to the left of the dealer begins play with a card of the same color, or another Discard All card. If that’s not possible, discard all his cards and hit the Launcher button to get new.

 The wild hit fire card forces the player to the dealer’s left to press the launcher button until the Launcher fires and adds the Launched cards to his/her hand, then play continues to next as usual in order.

How to Play UNO Attack

To set up the game, select a dealer, who will shuffle the deck and give each player seven cards. Place one card from the deck on the playing area to start the discard pile. Turn on the card launcher, load the remaining cards into it, and ensure the launcher faces the player whose turn it is. To load the cards, open the top door of the unit, place the remaining cards inside and close the launcher door until it snaps.

Dealing & Playing

The dealer deals seven cards to each player and starts the discard pile with one card. Place one card from the deck on the playing area to begin the discard pile, then place the remaining cards into the card launcher. Turn on the card launcher and make sure it always faces the player who is playing.

The first player to the left of the dealer starts the game by taking a card from the launcher and matching it with the top card face down in the remaining card pile, either by its color number or action on it. The goal to win the round is to be the first to empty your hand before anyone, else.

Taking Turns & Going Out

Players take turns matching the card on the top of the discard pile with the cards in their hands by color, number, or word. If a player is unable to make a match, they must press the button on the card launcher to see if any cards shoot out, and if they do, the play proceeds; otherwise, press the button again.

When a player has one card left, they have to yell “UNO” to show that they are playing their last card. If they did not yell and play a card, and another player caught them doing so, it could result in penalties. The round ends when a player runs out of cards and calculates the points of remaining cards in other players hands. These points are the winning player points and are added up after each round ends to decide the final winner after reaching 500 points.

Challenging

Players can challenge each other if they suspect an opponent has failed to yell “UNO” when down to one card. If the challenged player is caught without saying “UNO,” they must press the Launcher button twice as a penalty and get those cards from it.

Scoring and Points

After a round ends, points are allocated based on the cards remaining in the remaining players’ hands. The winner will take all the players’ cards and count their points to add to his total.

Winning

The game continues with multiple rounds, and the first player who plays all his cards first at the end of each round wins. The next round begins and game continues until a player reaches 500 points. Alternatively, the game may be scored by keeping track of how many points each player gets at the end of each hand. When one player reaches 500 points, the player with the fewest points wins the game.
